Product Description

by Gloria Amendola (Author)

After all these years, this provocative story is finally available in print...This play was born in the year 2000. I had no idea back then that this would be the start of a long-term relationship, and extraordinary esoteric experience, with the "spirit" I have come to know as Mary Magdalene. This theatrical writing started my 20-year journey with the Divine Feminine. The script was work-shopped and showcased in New York City in the winter of 2001, months before the 9/11 attack in lower Manhattan. The play was then given a staged reading in Seattle in 2004. There were international requests for permission to perform the play from Russia and Finland. After that, I lost track of this work, and moved deeper into my mission of retrieving the missing goddess. Growing up, I enjoyed reading plays, and was a big fan of Tennessee Williams, Edward Albee, and of course, William Shakespeare. Though the power of a play is in the magic of live theatrical performance, I believe there is value in reading a story in script format, and imagining its possibilities. So, what might it be like for the Magdalene to come alive in our world, in this moment in time? What would she look like, and what would she say? Who is she, this mystical goddess and most legendary Lady?In this recently revised script, Mary Magdalene appears in Central Park and clearly, she's got something to say. As she moves through Manhattan, Mary finds her way into the homes of three very different New Yorkers. So, what could possibly go wrong? Who will she encounter and why has she chosen them? How will they react? Why is a unicorn following Mary? And who does she find upon her return to Central Park?
