Product Description

by Roy Peter Roy (Author), Peter Roy (Author)

This book is the first to reveal the dark underbelly of the floating garden of Madeira, written by an Englishman who spent five years there - corruption, incest and guns in the night.

Author Biography

Peter Roy was born in 1939 in Chatham, England; parents an itinerant fishmonger and a melancholic.

After surviving thirteen diverse schools he was apprenticed at 16 to a Dickensian accountant. Upon qualification as a Chartered Accountant Peter worked mainly in the advertising and entertainment industries.

At 58, he decided to try for a better quality of life by moving, lock stock and barrel, to the beautiful island of Madeira.

He now lives in New South Wales, Australia.
