This book is to share my journey to recovery and help someone else in a similar situation find a way out. When I first began my recovery, I would often think that I was the last one in my social circle to get myself together. I was scared to change because I wasn't sure that there was anything else that I could do outside of what I had always done.
Of course, I know today that these were only negative thoughts that prevented me from moving forward positively. Once I began my sobriety, I realized that it was simply making a choice and following through. Not to say that I don't have good days and challenging days like everyone else. I will say that I actively choose to do better and be better daily. It took resolve, surrender to a higher power, and random survivors to get me to where I am now. I am now a sponsor and work as a Recovery Coach Specialist in Chicago.
