Product Description

by Charles W. Robinson (Author)

It is assumed by many that addiction is not a major issue for those involved in a faith community. But that is a myth. There are many people in virtually every congregation that struggle with addictive behavior and most are too afraid to admit it. Yet, the church is the ideal place to get help. This book equips pastors, church leaders, lay counselors and volunteers to build an effective and life-changing recovery ministry in their local church.

Author Biography

Chuck Robinson served as the first pastor of recovery at Henderson Hills Baptist Church in Edmond, Oklahoma. He is a licensed minister, a licensed alcohol and drug counselor, and a certified sex addiction therapist. Today, he works as the national director of Christian programming and outreach with Elements Behavioral Health, a nationwide network of addiction and mental health treatment centers, where he oversees the Three Strands(SM) Christian addiction treatment program at select facilities. Robinson holds a bachelor's degree in business management and a master's degree in substance abuse studies from the University of Central Oklahoma. In personal recovery from addiction since 1982, Robinson has happily celebrated 32 years of marriage and has four sons and three grandchildren.
