The neighbors called the brothers, José, Miguel and Leopoldo, Los Güeros (the fair ones). From an early age, Los Güeros began to perform at local events. Years later they accompanied famous singers of the times, and this brought them to the United States, along with their families. During their years of touring, Los Güeros experienced many adventures as well as misadventures. My father even became a bracero in Idaho during World War II.

This book describes the events in my father's journey, José, which have made me laugh and cry, and which inspired me to write and share them. I think many readers will be able to relate to this immigrant story.
