In Job 12:7-10, we read: "But ask the animals, and they will teach you, the birds of the air, and they will tell you; ask the plants of the earth, and they will teach you, and the fish of the sea will declare to you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of every human being." If we are willing to open our hearts and minds, animals can teach us the importance of exercising dominion over them in the same way that God exercises dominion over us: with respect, love, patience, kindness, compassion, humility, and dignity. I believe God's perfect plan for creation is for humankind to recognize and appreciate that all living beings are interconnected with, and interdependent upon each other. We cohabit God's world equally, and it is up to us two-legged creatures to spread that message and make it our reality!
