Author Biography
Yamina Bouguenaya is a scholar of the Quran and the director of Receiving Nur, a non-profit educational organization dedicated to empowerment and enrichment through Qur'anic spirituality. She transitioned from her position as Associate Professor of Islamic Studies in order to commit full time to Receiving Nur. In addition to extensive training in Islamic Studies both in traditional and academic settings, she also holds a PhD in Theoretical Physics from Durham University, England. She has published extensively in several languages on Islam, especially on Quranic Studies, Islamic Spirituality and the relation between religion and science. She is a native Arabic speaker, and also fluent in Turkish and French. Bouguenaya offers online Quranic classes as well as extensive Quran workshops and spiritual retreats. She also actively contributes to interfaith engagements for cultivating mindful faith.
