I chose the words to the title because of a painting I saw as a college freshman at a museum in New York. In addition I spent 20 years in exile in Tanzania, Africa and the lion is a symbol of Africa.
Author Biography
Born and raised in Harlem and attended schools in New York City. Graduated from Lehman College and married my wife and we had a son. I began my teaching career in New York City and simultaneously joined the armed struggle in 1968. After three years in the underground my identity was discovered and I was forced to escape capture by fleeing to Cuba. I was 23 years in exile and I returned to America on May 13, 1994, Friday. I legally returned with the cooperation of the U.S. embassy in Dar es Salaam. I resumed my teaching career.
