Author Biography
After spending 25 years in emergency services, 20 of those years as a paramedic in Texas, I have plenty of "war stories" to tell spanning from the infancy of modern paramedicine through its development and evolution to what it is today. I'm a storyteller at heart, my family and friends have been my audience for years as I recalled my experiences from these special 25 years of my life - I wrote this book to share my stories with everyone. While a lot of the calls I made over the years were routine, many were not. Each story is written from my perspective, with insights on what was going on inside my mind at the scene with my patients. Some stories will end in tragedy, others end positively, and some will even make you laugh. Whether you are seeking your own career as a paramedic, a seasoned veteran of emergency services, or just want a good read with great stories - this book is written for you. Since retiring as a paramedic in 2000, I worked in IT for 16 years until retiring in 2016 to focus on my hobbies still working part-time as a substitute teacher. I have been married to my wife, Tracey, for 30 years and counting, living in Spring, Texas. I have one son who lives in nearby Magnolia, Texas with his wife and on Leap Day 2016 I became a grandfather - or "Pops" - for the first time. I hope you enjoy it.
