Product Description

by Theressa Silver (Author)

It's what we're all doing so why not write a book about about it?

On March 17, 2020, Gov. Brown issued the shelter in place order and Oregon shut down. We stayed home and we stayed safe. But that didn't mean we did nothing. Quite the contrary. We began exploring what was right around us. People gardened, and baked, and took up crafts. We learned new ways of interacting with friends and reached out to our communities for support. I turned to my knitting and found myself deeply inspired to create projects that reflected the idea of staying close to home.

I decided to create a collection of patterns that was all about home, starting with the yarn itself. I reached out to indie dyers all over Oregon and the response was wonderful. I asked each dyer to tell me about herself, her business, her inspirations, and her life. Those conversations became the inspirations for each pattern. These patterns really are about the yarn and the women who create it.

In this book you'll meet well known dyers and dyers who are just getting started. The result is 11 patterns that reflect the diversity and creativity of the fiber community in Oregon.
