Product Description

by Brother Roger of Taize (Author)

This fourth and final volume of the personal journals of Roger Schutz-Marsauche (1915-2005) begins in 1977 and ends with his death in 2005. It covers the day-to-day life of the Taize Community, an ecumenical monastic community known for its music and contemplative style of worship, and for its work with young adults around the world. It also describes the travels of Brother Roger, at the end of each year, with a team of young adults to places of poverty across the world--with boat-people on the South China Sea, with slum-dwellers in Nairobi, Kenya, and with indigenous Americans in the south of Chile. In addition, Brother Roger speaks of his encounters with significant people, including several popes and the secretary general of the United Nations.
