Product Description

by Kelly Thompson (Author), Mattia de Iulis (Illustrator), Marcio Takara (Illustrator)

Marvel's hard-boiled private investigator is back!

JESSICA JONES was once the costumed super hero known as Jewel. She sucked at it.

Now she's a private investigator at her own firm, ALIAS INVESTIGATIONS. She sucks less at that.

But her past always comes knocking, and when a woman whose case she fumbled years ago winds up dead on her office floor, Jessica goes from private investigator to prime suspect. Hunting for answers, she finds herself ensnared in the schemes of a serial killer targeting women with powers, and as her investigation continues and every clue pulls her deeper into a nightmare she may not escape, the darkness only grows closer to home.

When Jessica's daughter, Danielle, suddenly manifests purple skin, Jessica is forced to confront the shadows of her past with the PURPLE MAN and the fragile foundation of her family with LUKE CAGE. As secrets unravel and old wounds are torn open, Jessica must face the most harrowing questions of her life: what kind of mother is she--and what kind of future can she give her child?

With guest appearances by DAREDEVIL, SPIDER-MAN, DOCTOR STRANGE, and ELSA BLOODSTONE - this critically acclaimed saga from Eisner Award-winning writer KELLY THOMPSON channels the raw, hard-boiled pulse of pulp noir in the tradition of the very best crime stories.

Author Biography

Kelly Thompson has a degree in sequential art from the Savannah College of Art & Design and wrote the cult hit Jem and the Holograms for IDW. She published her first graphic novel, Heart in a Box, with Dark Horse in 2015 and has written two novels: Storykiller (2014) and The Girl Who Would Be King (2012). Thompson debuted at Marvel in 2015, co-writing Captain Marvel & the Carol Corps and A-Force. She has since made a name for herself on such books as Hawkeye, West Coast Avengers, Uncanny X-Men, Amazing Spider-Man, Deadpool and the Rogue-and-Gambit-starring Mr. and Mrs. X. Thompson's Black Widow won the 2021 Eisner Award for best new series, and her Infinity Comic collaboration with Gurihiru, It's Jeff! is a delight.

Marcio Takara has been drawing for companies like Marvel Comics, Image Comics, Boom! Studios and DC since 2006 on titles such as Marvel Adventures Super Heroes, Dynamo 5, The Incredibles, Incorruptible, Blue Beetle and Flash. Other projects include Earthward with writer Bryan Q. Miller, artwork for the game League of Legends and Smallville: Lantern for DC.

Discovered during Marvel's Chesterquest international talent search in 2009, Portuguese artist Filipe Andrade quickly rose to prominence with assignments on the limited series John Carter: A Princess of Mars, as well as contributions to Captain America, X-23 and Deadpool. He took on a theme-park legend in Disney Kingdoms: Figment and a very different iconic character in Old Man Logan.
