Author Biography
Dr. TaMara is a certified clinical sexologist, sex therapist, best selling author and powerful transformational speaker with more than 20 years of experience speaking, researching, writing, and teaching about healthy sexuality. Dr. TaMara holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Human Sexuality, Doctorate degree in Human Sexuality, Masters degree in Social Work and a Masters degree in Education. She also has over 20 plus sexuality related certificates. Dr. TaMara has extensive experience working within various communities providing human sexuality education and HIV education. She has also served as a sexuality consultant for the National HIV/AIDS Strategy, The Center for Disease Control and Prevention, The American Psychological Association, and The United States Department of Health and Human Services. Dr. TaMara also was the lead author on the country's first faith based training manual for HIV/AIDS entitled: HIV/AIDS: A Manual for Faith Communities; which was endorsed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the National Coalition of Pastor's Spouses. Dr. TaMara has published numerous articles, books and curriculum; including several evidenced-based interventions for adolescents. You may also find her published case study on the YOUR Blessed Health Project, An HIV Model for Faith Based Communities in the textbook Social Work in Health Settings. Dr. TaMara is the Editor-in-Chief of Our Sexuality! Magazine; the premiere magazine for women's sexuality and sexual health. Dr. TaMara is the National Correspondent and a "Thought Leader" for the Association of Black Sexologist and Clinicians. She is also an active member of the American College of Sexologists International. Dr. TaMara is the owner of 7 to LIFE by Dr. TaMara and the host of The Dr. TaMara Radio Show.
