Author Biography

Professor Eric Shepherd is a chartered scientist, forensic psychologist, counselling psychologist, and psychotherapist. A former intelligence officer specialising in interrogation, resistance to interrogation, information analysis and foreign language duties, he has held a wide range of clinical and
academic appointments. He has worked within and outside the UK with the police, the legal profession, government departments, and with the private sector. He has given expert witness testimony in cases before lower and appeal courts within and outside UK, the ICC, and the ICJ. A member of the UK
Home Office Working Part on Investigative Interviewing, the Royal Commission on Criminal Justice invited him to give evidence on police interviewing practice.

Dr Andy Griffiths is a former UK police Detective Superintendent who spent his career investigating serious crime and who also led homicide, organized crime, and intelligence departments as a senior officer. His PhD evaluating the effectiveness of specialized interview training was sponsored by the
national police college, and he has been training and advising on investigative interviewing at both tactical and strategic levels for over 20 years in numerous countries across the world. He now divides his time between public and private sector consultancy and training, alongside academic work as
a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Portsmouth and an affiliated scholar with New York University's Asia Law Institute.
