Known as 'the Creative Lifeguard, ' Jay has won many awards for his work in television, including a 2004 Writer's Guild of America Award. At the same time, Jay was privately pursuing his personal passion of writing poetry. In 2015, Jay received a diagnosis of ALS, otherwise known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, the same affliction being endured by Stephen Hawking.
