Product Description

by Valerie Zahn (Author)

It was 1918 and the Great War had just ended. After years of uncertainty and loss, the entire nation breathed a collective sigh of relief and began celebrating. Abigail was very thankful, but also found herself feeling restless and in need of purpose. Her fiancé, Luke, had died during the war. She had kept herself busy as a nurse helping the wounded and serving her country. What would she do now?

As the world celebrated, the Queen decided to tour her country and personally thank them for all of their sacrifices. One day she came to Abigail's village to give her condolences to the ones who had lost loved ones and express her gratitude to those who had served. After hearing so many wonderful things from the villagers about Abigail, she wanted to meet her. The Queen was very impressed with her. She decided to invite her to visit the palace in order for her to meet her son Prince Everett. She hoped Abigail would give the Prince a reason to abandon his playboy lifestyle and finally provide both a Princess and also an heir for the royal family.

After meeting Abigail, the Prince finds out that she never intends to marry or give her heart to another man. She only wants to live a life of service to others. The Prince strikes up a deal with her. He proposes that they marry legally, in order to appease his parents, while he pursues true love. Abigail would also be able to use her position as Princess in order to serve the nation. If there's no consummation, their marriage can be easily annulled. However, from the moment they say I do, nothing goes as planned.
