This creative guide leads you to monstrously fun discoveries in the names, histories and appearances of 20 common and treasured flowers.

The blossoms in our gardens and meadows have so many stories to tell! In this young reader's field guide, 20 common flowers come to life. They reveal their fascinating pasts, their healing powers or poisons, and their adorably monstrous secret identities! If Flowers Were Little Monsters offers a new way to learn about flowers, with tricks and tips to recognize blooms such as the big-hearted camellia, fluffy mimosa, sentimental forget-me-not, or shy peony. Welcome to the monstrously wonderful world of flowers!

Author Biography

While spending time in the countryside during lockdown, Claire Le Men developed a passion for flowers. But the fertile imagination of this Paris-born author and illustrator soon got the better of her and, inspired by the work of Léopold Chauveau, transformed the flowers that are the pride of our gardens into endearing little monsters. If Flowers Were Little Monsters is her first book for children. She lives in Brittany.
