Radio Telephony (RT) communication is used daily by Pilots to transmit their intentions when on the ground and, whilst in flight. There are a lot of common terminologies used on a daily basis which allow all Pilots to become familiar with over time, however as can be seen from this guide, there are a number of RT terms that require more attention for ease of understanding and application in communications. This guide takes the user through 17 different applications used in RT, and explains how each is related to the associated equipment, or situation being highlighted discussed. The purpose behind this guide is to introduce Pilots to RT concepts and transmissions that are not all taught at a Student Pilot level, and thus give them insight into a Radio Telephony model that covers a broader range of communication possibilities.
