Author Biography

John Shiver, Jr. is 92 years old and still lives in Atmore, Alabama, his hometown. He completed over 75 European combat missions as a Flight Engineer or Gunner in World War II. He grew up yearning to fly, and realized that ambition in a way he never could have imagined. At age 90 he began to write about his time at war to share with others his extraordinary experience in that conflict.
