Product Description

by Paul Wilding (Author)

This book contains a collection of songs dating from between the 9th and 15th centuries, ranging from easy to lower intermediate in difficulty. The book has been notated for a regular soprano recorder.

Medieval music is usually quite simple and basic, however this book is not written for beginners, but for novices players able to play a simple tune on the recorder - through to lower intermediate players who can add their own embellishments to the tunes. Most tunes are on the major scale, in the dorian mode or on the minor scale, though some venture into more unusual areas such as the melodic minor or phrygian dominant.
