Product Description

by Carolyn N. Gibbons (Author)

Over 2200 marriages were abstracted from the microfilm of the County Clerk's Marriage Book labeled 4 (with an A added; however, in the index, 4 was used for Whites and 4A for "Colored" so I have used 4) and then compared with both marriage indexes and the index on the marriage record itself. Added information was taken from the record to include relatives, residences, and place of marriage such as bride's father's house or Fayette.

Author Biography

Carolyn N. Gibbons first became interested in family genealogy in 1966. After retiring in 1995 she became much more involved, publishing her first book in 2002. She has published in The Argyll Colony Plus, The North Carolina Genealogical Society Journal and is presently editor of Cumberland Chronicles, the Cumberland County (NC) Genealogical Society quarterly newsletter. She is a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, The General Society of Mayflower Descendants and numerous genealogical societies.
