Alice V. Feeley, RDC is a Brooklyn native currently living in Dobbs Ferry, NY. Alice is a member of the Sisters of Divine Compassion, an order founded on the ideals of being present to, and providing hope for the sufferings and needs of others, particularly children and young women. As an educator, Alice taught English literature and math at the primary, high school and college levels. As director of Pace University's CLOUT program she combined her experience as educator and administrator to assist young women raising children on public assistance to develop skills necessary for successful employment. She has also served as a pastoral counselor and nursing home chaplain. Alice continues to be active as a spiritual director and retreat leader. Alice is drawn to poetry as a creative outlet that aims at grasping some small aspect of the immense truth and beauty that surrounds us and helps ground us through the uncertainties and troubles of daily life. Alice's poetry has appeared in her chapbook, ARMED PILGRIMS, A SLANT OF LIGHT: Contemporary Women Writers of the Hudson Valley, AMERICA, Inkwell, in*tense, POET, en(compass) from Yuganta press, the Occasional Papers and Reflective Journal of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious. Alice is a member of the Poetry Caravan active in Westchester County, NY and has served as Poet Laureate of the Town of Greenburgh.
