Celebrate all the different ways we eat! Featuring 40+ vibrant photos of real kids and families at mealtime, HOW WE EAT: Celebrating Food & Feeding Tools inspires meaningful conversations about culture, ability, and inclusion on every page.

  • Inclusive mealtime experiences Photographs show kids using bottles, adaptive spoons, syringes, supplemental nursing systems, chopsticks, G-tubes, forks, NG tubes, EpiPens, cups, and their hands to eat.
  • Detailed explanations Each feeding tool and culture dish pictured is accompanied by descriptions that help parents and educators answer questions and spark discussions about nursing, pumping, limb differences, spoon-feeding, baby-led weaning, and checking ingredient lists for allergens.
  • Age-appropriate discussion questions The back matter guides parents and educators in starting conversations about body and food differences with young children.
  • Fun rhyming text: Designed to captivate babies, toddlers, and beginning readers.
  • Cultural diversity Learn about foods like sushi, dosas, dumplings, and arepas, sparking curiosity about food from all cultures, backgrounds, and celebrations!

Originally published as a board book and named one of Kirkus' Best Books of 2022, this expanded 32-page, large-size picture book edition was created due to popular demand from schools and libraries eager to share HOW WE EAT with readers of all ages.
