Product Description

by Ryder Scott (Author)

This is the essential guide to becoming a licensed door supervisor in the UK, written by Ryder Scott (Channel 4 Bouncers) with over 25 years' experience working on the doors of Essex. As if this didn't qualify him enough, Ryder is one of the most respected approved trainers of Door Supervisors and Close Protection Operatives in the UK. This book asks is this job really for you, how to find the very best training, what to expect on this training, how to find a job and what to expect on your first night on the door as well as some excellent advice on coping with the after effects of violence for the first time. Ryder gives some of his hard hitting, true life stories to give you a first-hand experience of what it is really like to 'work the door'.

Author Biography

Ryder has been in the Security Industry for over 25 years, starting out as a nightclub doorman at the age of 18 working his way up to operating as a head doorman in many large venues. Additionally in 2006 he started working in close protection and also became a security manager of a security company in charge of large manned guarding contracts. Continuing to work as a doorman Ryder qualified in 2010 as a Security Industry tutor and is now working in this field along with still operationally both on the door and in close protection having worked all over the UK and Europe.
