In the 1980s, the city of Chicago gave birth to the world's most popular music genre today known as House Music.

In 1977, it became an independent extension of the dancehall music scene from the late 1960s. House Music grew so rapidly that it brought in a variety of music artists from Pop, R&B, Soul, Jazz, Rock N Roll, Hip Hop, and other genres to create a new sound fusion.
