by Christopher R. Van Valkenburgh (Author)

"History of the 306th Troop Carrier Squadron, 442nd Troop Carrier Group, 1943-1945" covers the creation of the 306th Troop Carrier Squadron at Sedalia Army Air Field, Warrensburg Missouri in September 1943 and concludes after VE Day in France, July 1945. The book covers all three Airborne Operations: "Operation Neptune" - Normandy France, "Operation Market" - Holland and "Operation Varsity" - the Rhine River crossing. The book also covers the individual history of every Service Member and every aircraft assigned to the squadron from 1943 to 1945 with hundreds of period photographs, maps and documents. The daily narrative allows the reader to follow what it was like to be part of the 306th Troop Carrier Squadron hauling freight, medical evacuation flights and combat flights during Airborne Operations in Europe during World War Two.
