Product Description

by Grace Gillam Davidson (Compiled by)

Records of Elbert County, Georgia spans the period 1791-1835 with respect to the earliest extant Elbert County records, covering wills, administrations and guardians' records, minutes of the Inferior Court, deed books, land court records, land lotteries, tombstone records, and marriages. Will abstracts, returns of administrators and guardians, and Inferior Court records constitute just under half of the volume. The marriage records, on the other hand, span the period 1806-1834, and for each marriage there is given the names of the bride and groom, date of the marriage, and the page of the original record where the marriage appeared. All told some 8,000 persons are named in this crucial work on Elbert County.
