Product Description

by Martin James Lawrence (Author)

This book covers the design of both direct-radiator loudspeakers and horn-loaded loudspeakers, together with passive crossover networks and advanced topics such as time-frequency equalization. Also included are chapters covering the analysis of general passive networks, as well as frequency response equalizers, acoustics and loudspeaker measurement techniques. The second edition has three new chapters entitled: 'Auditory Distance Reduction Equalizers', 'Time-Frequency Equalization of a Loudspeaker' and 'Motion Picture Sound Reproduction and Cinema Loudspeakers'. There are chapters dealing with Acoustics, Thiele-Small Parameters, the Closed Box, the Vented Enclosure and Sub-Woofers, and chapters on Horn Theory, Low Frequency Horn, Mid-Range Horn and High Frequency Horn design. This Third, (and probably Final), Edition, adds Q1X, Q1Y, QB1, Q2 and Q3 Vented Enclosure Alignments, passive Time-Delay Networks and passive Shelf, Acceptor and Rejector equalization networks. It also adds Time-Frequency equalization of two microphones and my prototype MS1 and MS2 loudspeaker designs
