Product Description

by Diane Carter (Author), Jamie Mosel (Illustrator), Kazuko Ito West (Translator)

Hideki and Kenji are two Japanese boys who experience what they think is an earthquake and discover it is really the running and jumping of a baby dinosaur! Their boisterous new friend is causing havoc in the village and the boys need to figure out a way to stop the earth from shaking while still keeping a baby dinosaur happy. Children will enjoy the delightful story and charming illustrations. Those learning either Japanese or English will find it a fun and useful study tool.

Author Biography

Bonnie West and Diane Carter first met in a Japanese class and became study partners and friends. In March of 2011, a friend in Japan told Bonnie how very afraid her two young boys were after the devastating earthquake and tsunami. Bonnie and Diane decided to write a story for the boys that their mother could read to them. The result is a story that will appeal to children everywhere as well as being useful to adults learning either Japanese or English.
