Product Description

by Brian a. Curtis (Author)

A collection of fifty-six sermons based on selected 'heroes' and 'villains' of the Old Testament. They attempt to deal with many of the challenges which the Old Testament presents us with today.

The hope is that the studies provide insights into a God who is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow; that they deal with everyday issues about how to live the Christian life; and that they raise questions about the teaching and practices of the modern church, especially where they are at odds with biblical teaching (Old and New). The sermons have been written in a way that acknowledges that very few people will have their Bibles open. Furthermore, there is a focus on the characters and their stories, as a way of encouraging people to read-and immerse themselves-in the text. For that reason, while there are some references to the New Testament, many of the sermons do not refer to the New Testament at all.
