Herman Windolf was the first ordained Baptist pastor to come from Germany to minister to the scrub Germans in the Fassifern Valley of South East Queensland. This book is primarily translations of reports Herman sent home to Germany for publication in Christian magazines. They covered his journey through Hamburg to Brisbane and the journey to Fassifern Scrub and the start of his ministry. The book is supplemented by furher documents from the Queensland Baptist Historical Society relating to the early German Baptist churches.
