Gail M. Conner, Esquire, a resident of Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, wrote Healing Parties as a result of a trip to Africa in 2006. Her daughter was moving to Zambia for a year as a volunteer with the International Justice Mission, a human rights organization. Gail received her B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her Juris Doctorate from Widener University School of Law, in Delaware. The book is about the unique experiences that have shaped her life.
