Lynn Michelsohn, a tenth generation Carolinian, engages readers in characters and folkways unique to the Carolina Lowcountry in her charming retelling of these sometimes-eerie, sometimes-sad, sometimes-humorous folktales from Brookgreen Gardens, the popular tourist attraction in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, north of Charleston.
