Author Biography

Greg Davenport is the founding member of Simply Survival, a wilderness education program based out of Stevenson, Washington, and the author of numerous books related to outdoor survival. He has been conducting wilderness trips for over twenty years and has students from around the world follow him into the mountains and deserts to learn both basic and advanced wilderness navigation and survival skills. As a former U.S. Air Force Survival Instructor, he is considered one of the best global survival experts in the world and has consulted or appeared on such shows as 48 Hours, NBC Nightly News, CBS News, ABC PrimeTime Thursday, and on the BBC and MSNBC. Greg is the host of Risk Takers/History Makers, which appears on the History Channel. This show re-creates the incredible journeys of past explorers such as John Wesley Powell and Ernest Shackleton.
