Author Biography
Rachel Solomon grew up in rural North Carolina, meeting the love of her life in high school, and marrying soon after graduation. She supported her husband, Talmadge, through years of college education and full-time ministry. They have two adult children, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Rachel went to college as an adult and graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice from Guilford College. After a dedicated career with the state of NC in the court system, Rachel retired and went to work for a church-supported family services agency. She fully retired in 2009 and spends her days serving the church, connecting with friends in real life and online, and loving on her family. In 2010, Rachel started her video ministry, Gray Hair Talking, with 65 videos that can be seen at grayhairtalking.com. Holly Solomon Barrett grew up in a four-generation family, as the oldest child of Rachel and Talmadge. After a difficult marriage, Holly returned home with her two children and single parented them until they both joined the US Air Force. Holly is an ordained minister and has served several churches in both bi-vocational and fulltime capacities. She currently serves the ministry of The Crossnore School as Director of Communications. Holly nurtures a thriving online community through her blog, Reclaiming a Redeemed Life, and enjoys writing, podcasting, and speaking opportunities. Her closest friends are those two children, now all grown up, and the light of her life are her three grandchildren.
