Product Description

by Vikas Dan (Author)

"Golf from Inside Out" differs from other classical manuals in that way, that it offers a unique ways how to combine physical, psychological and spiritual aspect of a golf player. To this end, the author presents four truths about golf, which are derived from the spiritual teachings in the Buddhist tradition: 1. The Truth about Confusion and Frustration, 2. The Truth about the Origin of Frustration, 3. The Truth of the Cessation of Frustration and 4. The Truth about the Path. Throughout the book author introduces the concept of learning golf in such a way that a player comes into contact with one's own body (rather than his chattering mind) and is thus well on track to reach its own potential. For this purpose, the book offers various exercises to align Self 1 (Mind) and Self 2 (Body), based on the relaxed concentration.

Author Biography

Vikas Dan, PGA (Slovenia, Europe) was introduced to golf as a caddy and in just three years played to a five handicap. As the technical and psychological aspects of the game left him frustrated, Vikas began his journey of self-discovery in the East. There he found the possibility of different "mindful" approaches to playing golf and devoted most of his time to studying and understanding how the human mind works. He likes to joke about professional arena that being Enlightened doesn't mean you will not get your buttocks kicked in the tournaments, and it's better to prepare yourself before entering! He thinks that practicing straight shots and playing for a low score certainly makes sense, but to discover inner game and going beyond the mind's illusions is true happiness. Vikas Dan is a certified Spirit of Golf instructor and a member of PGA Golf Academy, Ljubljana, Slovenia.
