Product Description

by Mark H. Davis (Author)

Go Get Your Muda! is an awakening compilation of insightful, motivating and entertaining blog entries from entrepreneurial change leader Mark H. Davis. Dealing with such business-critical issues as waste (or "muda" in Japan), quality, customer service and process mindset, Mark implores his readers to pursue excellence relentlessly and overthrow ineffective systems courageously. He challenges the consumer along with the brand, the CEO along with the associate. No practice is sacred; no habit is safe. With ringing clarity and stinging conviction, Mark: - Vents his frustration with epic service "fails" - Shares striking examples of carelessness and illogic - Offers practical tips and techniques for improvement - Entertains, enlightens and enrages - Bares his soul - Inspires readers to reach for the sky. Mark's spirited style shines in such chapters as "Let Your Lean Legs Do the Walking," "When Bad Process Trumps Good People," "Don't Let Facebook Get the Best of You," and "One Letter Can Be Very Impotant." There are as many "a-ha" moments as there are "ha-ha"s. The net effect is a riveting and rewarding read. Those seeking an entertaining and common-sense application of Lean Six Sigma to everyday life and business will find great treasure in this book. For more waste-busting ideas, follow Mark's "Quality Matters" blog at workflowdiagnostics.wordpress.com.

Author Biography

Mark H. Davis, a.k.a. process geek, super waste-buster and Lean Six Sigma evangelist, strives to put process improvement in the hands of the little guys. Energized and energizing, he propels teams, executives and audiences to new heights of service and operational excellence with his passionate, witty and common-sense presentation of Lean Six Sigma. He knows this transformative improvement methodology from the inside-out, having trained, worked and taught others in the art of process improvement since 2000. "Lean Six Sigma is an effective business philosophy for the masses, from the entrepreneur to the franchisee to the fry-dipper," he believes. "You don't have to have an endless string of capital letters after your name to use it. You only have to care about your customer and be willing to change whenever and however they say you should. Okay, so it might help if you can speak, reason and perform some basic math functions. And draw lines, straight as well as squiggly." Specializing in healthcare performance improvement, his clients have included medical practices, hospitals and health systems, as well as IT service providers, marketing agencies, insurance companies and others. His regular musings can be found and followed at: workflowdiagnostics.wordpress.com and twitter.com/workflowdx Mark is married to Charmaine T. Davis, who writes Christian fiction found on Amazon and other venues. He applies every ounce of his process improvement acumen to the raising of their seven children.
