Known scientifically as Dinocardium robustum, these striking shells derive their name from the heart shape visible when viewed from the side of a pair. They primarily showcase hues of rusty orange, cream, and tan, with some specimens appearing in more muted grey shades. Our inventory changes based on the tide's offerings. Adult cockles measure roughly 3-4 inches, though sizes may vary slightly. Shells are sold by halves—please choose your desired quantity from the dropdown menu.
These shells are authentic and distinctive. Most of the shells we offer are meant for crafting and are not classified as specimens unless explicitly indicated. Consequently, they may exhibit signs of their time in the ocean, including natural variations such as growth lines, tiny holes, chipped edges, calcium deposits, and more. We do not sell “perfect” shells—our shells are naturally beautiful with their unique imperfections.
