Product Description

by Sara Hines Martin (Author)

Georgia's Remarkable Women: Daughters, Wives, Sisters, and Mothers Who Shaped History recognizes the women who helped to shape the Peach State. Female teachers, writers, entrepreneurs, and artists from across the state are illuminated through short biographies and archival photographs and paintings.

Author Biography

Sara Hines Martin is a freelance writer living in suburban Atlanta, Georgia. She grew up on a farm in Virginia, where reading was one of her only recreations. As a child, she vowed to "one day be one who puts words to paper." She has lived in several states and in two third-world countries and has traveled widely around the world. Sara settled in Georgia thirty years ago and has gotten to know her adopted state in the same way she got to know the foreign countries in which she lived: by exploring its geography, reading its history, and visiting its sites of interest. She loves history and has been writing articles and books for fifty-five years and has written for several Georgia magazines and some national magazines for seniors. Her favorite recreation is walking, and in 2001 she published the FalconGuide Walking Atlanta with Globe Pequot Press.
