Hall Effect joysticks use non-contact magnetic sensors to detect stick position, which means there are no physical wear points. Do the Hall Effect triggers feel different from standard triggers?
Hall Effect linear triggers feel very similar to standard analog triggers but with a more consistent resistance profile throughout the pull range. Because the resistance is magnetic rather than mechanical, there is no notching, inconsistency, or degradation over time. For racing games, the consistent pull makes throttle control more predictable. For shooters, trigger dead zones can be fine-tuned in GameSir Nexus to suit your preference.
What can I customize with GameSir Nexus?
GameSir Nexus is a free Windows application that lets you: remap any button (including back buttons) to any function; adjust stick dead zones (inner and outer); adjust trigger sensitivity and dead zones; tune D-pad diagonal input; configure vibration intensity for each of the 4 rumble motors independently; enable impulse trigger vibration support for all games (not just games that natively support it); and save multiple profiles that can be switched between on the fly using button combinations without opening the software.
How does the magnetic faceplate work?
The front faceplate of the G7 SE attaches via strong magnets and can be removed and replaced without tools in seconds. The faceplate is also paint-friendly, meaning you can paint or customize it without damaging the underlying controller. Additional faceplates in different colors or designs can be purchased separately. This allows ongoing personalization without buying a new controller.
Is the USB-C cable replaceable if it gets damaged?
Yes - the USB-C cable is detachable from the controller. If the cable is damaged, you can replace it with any standard USB-C cable.
