Author Biography

Dr. Friedman, a fellow of the American Academy of Osteopathy who employs a multidisciplinary approach to Pain Management and Integrative Wellness Medicine. He graduated from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1987, did a rotating internship at Michiana Community Hospital in South Bend, IN. and a combined residency in Osteopathic Manipulation and Family Medicine at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine from 1988-1990. He received his board certification from ABSPOMM in 1991. Dr Friedman teaches internationally and has helped to establish Osteopathic programs in Germany for the DGOM and the DAOM. He is co-founder of San Fransisco International Manual Medicine Society (SFIMMS) and has written numerous books on Osteopathic technique including Functional Methods, with William L Johnston and David C. Eland, and a set of 4 instructional manuals (SFIMMS series in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine) on Counterstrain, Myofascial and Primary Respiratory Mechanism approaches in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine.
