Product Description

by Julia Saffold (Editor), Jasmine Zapata (Contribution by), Barbara Hyatte Boustead (Author)

This book is about navigating and embracing the challenges that women, especially Black women, often experience in midlife. From 50 to Fabulous encourages women to take time to Reflect, Reconnect, and Redirect their energies into creating a life full of joy and purpose. As Black women, if we don't take care of ourselves physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and financially, then our community and ultimately our world suffers. Readers will walk away from this book with 1) a deeper appreciation and gratitude for the life they are living, 2) an understanding that they are part of the collective power of Black women, and 3) a greater awareness of their importance and self-worth. Barbara Boustead was born and raised in Rockford, IL and attended George Williams College where she received her Masters degree in Social Work in 1975. She launched Mary's Daughter, a business named after her mother who encouraged and supported Barbara to achieve her goal of starting a business to help seniors and veterans with their finances. Barbara and her husband, Bo currently reside in Madison WI. Their blended family includes their dog, 4 adult children who live in WI, OH, NY, and MN, a daughter in law, son in law and grandson.
