Growing up during the Great Depression, he was inspired by the solo flight of Charles A Lindbergh to pursue a career in aviation. In addition, flights were flown to the Azores, Lisbon, Algiers, Tunis, and Tripoli to Cairo. Later Madrid, London and Frankfort were added. TWA was the first airline to fly into Tel Aviv, Israel. Innovative and pioneering, TWA was the first airline to fly the Lockheed Super Constellation, the "Connie", and the Super "G". Discover how world politics influenced the route awards.
