Author Biography

Glenn G. Rother grew up on a dairy farm in Minnesota. He graduated from the University of Minnesota and, through its ROTC program, was commissioned a second lieutenant in the United States Army. He served two tours as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam, two tours as a field artillery officer supporting the Cold War in Germany, and several stateside assignments. He also attended Troy University, Alabama, and obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. In 1989, he retired from the Army as a lieutenant colonel with 23 years of military service. After retiring from the Army, he was employed for 20 years by Military Professional Resources, Inc. (MPRI), which was a private defense contractor that provided a wide range of military services to the Defense Department. After actively supporting our military forces for a combined 43 years, he retired from the workforce in 2010. During retirement he continued to support our military troops as a member of the Wounded Warrior Mentor Program. This was a group of volunteers, primarily retired military officers that were able to orient wounded warriors from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars on a new profession and a new way of life as they transitioned from military to civilian life. He and his wife, Charlene, live in Williamsburg, Virginia. They have two daughters and five grandchildren, three of which are proudly serving in the United States Army.
