Product Description

by Kayla McCall (Author)

Another burning hot summer in Birmingham, Alabama produces the most jarring change in Johanna Palmer's life. After her dad passes away in a car accident, Jo doesn't know how to handle the grief. When a boy, Dewey Clark, appears to offer his condolences, she is admittedly suspicious of him. Dewey becomes a constant in the weeks immediately following the funeral, but Jo is always a little wary of him. Still, despite her reservations, a friendship begins to form between the two. Jo discovers that there is more to Dewey than what she initially thought. He has become so well at hiding his own grief that Jo didn't notice it and along the way, she finds out more about her dad than she ever thought she'd know.
