Product Description

by Dana Barfield (Author)

Ever wonder who your investment advisor really works for? Has it ever seemed to you that your investment advisor makes out better on your money than you do? The financial services deliver system is an unqualified one way proposition. This book teaches you how to address the situation and locate an advisor who will have your best interests as their primary objective...

Author Biography

Dana is the President of The Barfield Group, Inc, a Registered Investment Advisor. Barfield formed the company in April of 1990 after stints at large financial firms, including a multinational insurance company, an investment bank, an international brokerage firm, and a regional pension manager. His name is most closely associated with doing that which is in the best interests of his clients. Barfield started the firm based on the idea he would neither retain the services offered, nor pay fees in the amounts charged, by most financial firms. Using his insider's knowledge of the financial business, he created a business model which delivers concrete benefits to clients, at a price and format for which he would be willing to pay. The result is an industry-leading firm with more than 21 years of experience and outstanding client benefits, delivered at a low cost. Clients are physicians, business owners, and those they refer. Barfield is a long-time critic of the way Wall Street, many insurance companies, and most financial firms do business: The way they establish and protect conflicts of interest with their customers, their practice of enriching themselves to their customer's detriment, for exploiting the public's expectation of expertise, and delivering a sales pitch for high priced products of nebulous investment value. He holds a Master of Science in Financial Planning, is a Certified Financial Planning Professional (CFP), and a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). These three degrees/designations represent the most comprehensive and rigorous financial education available. Dana writes a syndicated financial column under the name of RetirementWhys.com, is the author of three books on finance/business ownership, and is a sought after speaker on financial, wealth generation, retention, and business ownership topics. He is the founder of a teaching ministry named Real2Ideal. Born in 1962, he lives in the Dallas, Texas area with his wife and daughter.
