Product Description

by Nathan Phillips (Author), Nathan Phillips (Illustrator)

Feaver Fever in Spillage Village is a tale about a young alligator named Archie. Archie is passionate about science and engineering and loves to use his expertise to address challenges that often occur in his village. In this Tale of Whoa, Archie's village is invaded by hungry fish/beaver hybrid animals (aka Feavers) that have escaped from their cage and are terrorizing the villagers. In order to save the town from certain disaster, he uses math and science to get the Feavers back into their cage. After some thought, he manages to come up with a plan where he uses the buoyancy principle and math to size a log to save the day. There's one catch, however, if his engineering calculations are off just one bit, the Feavers will catch him and all will be lost. In the back of the book, there are math derivations and detailed illustrations that show kids just how Archie the engineer calculated the precise size of the log. This unique approach to learning math and science is sure to please kids of all ages.
