Product Description

by Les Dalgliesh (Author)

Thomas was searching for something intangible. He thought he might find it in the forests near his childhood home. He wanted a little peace and quiet and a chance to think things over. He wanted to change his perspective, prioritize his thinking, and refocus his energy into the things that are truly important. And it seemed to be working out just fine until all hell broke loose. His beloved, idyllic Northern California wilderness was crawling with people. And those people wanted to be left alone. Abduction. A drug war. Accidental participation in a triple homicide. Love and friendship from unexpected places. Thomas and his priorities would never be the same. Peace and quiet this was not. He hadn't been sure what he was looking for out there in the woods, but sometimes when you're chasing something, even if you're not sure what that something is, it catches you.

Author Biography

On his fiftieth birthday, Les Dalgliesh realized that it was time to stop stalling. It came to him that there would never be a time when he could drop everything and write the novels that had been, for all of his life, meandering through his brain. The next morning, he was up at five o'clock, writing. Writing before dawn became a habit, and by the end of that year, he'd finished his first novel. By the end of the next year, he'd finished another. And for the next three years, he continued to write, every morning at five o'clock. Les grew up in the mountains of northern California where he went to a one-room school and spent the rest of his time roaming, fishing the creeks and just being. That independent spirit and longing for what lies beyond day-to-day existence comes through in his writing. He treats the natural world, his characters, and his audience with gentleness and respect. Les now lives in Northern Michigan with his wife Sarah and Emma the dog.
