Product Description

by Jessey Jansen (Author), Jacqueline Mennenoh (Designed by)

Fair Street: My Road to Voice of Maasai is a reflective memoir about creativity as exchange-measured not in scale, but in trust, time, and long-term commitment.

Raised across from a county fair in small-town Wisconsin, Jessey Jansen learned early that imagination and resourcefulness could open doors. What began as informal acts of making and bartering gradually expanded into a life shaped by sustained creative work across cultures.

That path led to northern Tanzania and the founding of Voice of Maasai, a music and arts initiative built through long-term partnership with local artists and cultural collaborators. Rather than a story of arrival or mastery, Fair Street explores the quieter work of staying-how creative projects grow through repetition and relationship, and how meaning is built slowly over time.

Interwoven with photography, visual essays, and original design, the book reflects on fairness, collaboration, and the responsibility of creative exchange across difference.
