Product Description

by Linda a. Hatinen (Author)

Based on a true family, Eva and Abel migrate from Finland to northern Minnesota where they experience hardship and tragedy as they establish a dairy farm. Abel and later his son Johann become obsessed with gaining land and income, causing broken relationships with their family and with God. When Abel's grandson Joe inherits the farm he's determined not to make the same mistakes.

Author Biography

Linda Hatinen, a retired special education teacher, living in northern Minnesota with her husband and rescue dog Rosie heard the story of Eva and Abel from her father-in-law, Sam Hatinen, with whom Eva was pregnant during the 1918 Clouquet Fire. Through her writing, it is her intent to have her readers learn from the strengths and weaknesses of the characters as they see the hand of God throughout the story.
